This is a fumarole area just beside the crater Viti, on the side of Krafla. Here, gray mud is bubbling up into boiling pools, steam rises out of small holes in the ground, and the air is heavy with the smell of sulphur. The water in the small lake is coloured blue by the volcanic substances. The well-shaped mountain on the orizon to the left is Blafell. Near the horizon to the right, lake Myvatn can be seen.
