The fog continued to lift, and finally revealed a fantastic view when we started our descent down the valley on the opposite side. This is taken from the highest point we reached, about 1100 meters up. The plateau that looks a bit like a mandelbrot fractal in the middle of the picture is about 850 meters high. The farthest mountains at the horizon are 50 kilometers or more away, in the Landmannalaugar area.
